About CrossWord Rush — a free crossword-style word puzzle game
CrossWord Rush is a free crossword-style word puzzle game where you extend a grid by connecting words letter by letter. Like a crossword, words cross each other — but instead of solving clues, you build the puzzle yourself, so it plays fast and light.
What is CrossWord Rush?
It is a crossword game where you race the clock to cross new words onto letters already on the board and rack up points. Unlike a traditional crossword puzzle, there are no clues — you type words you already know to grow the grid. It keeps the crossing feel of a crossword while staying instantly playable with any word list.
Choose from themed dictionaries — Pokémon names, movie titles, fruits, countries — or build and share your own word list.
How do you play?
Pick a dictionary and you are given a starting letter. Type a word that uses it to extend the grid, then cross the next word onto the new letters. The longer and more you connect, the higher your score.
The crossing rules are tuned so real words interlock naturally, giving you the feel of building your own crossword puzzle in seconds.
Three modes to play
CrossWord Rush comes in three modes. The core Rush mode works as described above: you start from a given letter and cross new words onto the grid, growing it word by word.
In Crush mode the grid comes already filled with tiles — link adjacent letters to spell a word and the path you traced is crushed away, letting far-apart letters meet and open new words one after another against the clock.
In Chosung quiz mode you see only the initial consonants (chosung) of a word from the dictionary and type the answer — a familiar initial-sound guessing game you can play with no rules to learn. All three modes use the same themed dictionaries.
